I just discovered Gogol Bordello’s Trans-Continental Hustle was produced by Rick Rubin (only a handful of producers names and faces come to mind). I am annoyed, with my “first world problem.” I can’t immediately hear it, because it’s not available on iTunes and it’s Saturday and I am in bed till the Sun or the daughter drive me out it. So no looking it up on the old computer. Anyway, it’s Eugene Hutz (VT shout out, punk rock shout out) and Rick Rubin…so lets assume it’s great.
Which got me thinking…how great is Rick Rubin? Let me count the ways:
2001: System of a Down – Toxicity

2003: The Mars Volta – De-Loused in the Comatorium
1997: System of a Down - Demo Tape 3
1988: Danzig – Danzig
1988: Slayer – South of Heaven
